I was very surprised how much faster (near twice) my Tab 10.1 ran after installing the CM10 Jelly Bean ROM. Almost everything works on this Jelly Bean ROM except camera and camcorder. This isn’t a deal breaker for me as I don’t use my Tab 10.1 camera/camcorder often and rather benefit early from the Jelly Bean upgrade. After trying it out, I would have to say this build is near perfect in terms of running it on your Tab 10.1. Out of the box, everything is working including bluetooth, Netflix, and even camera. The camcorder also does work but is a bit laggy when starting/stopping video and recorded videos can be a bit dirty on the rear camcorder. The front camcorder works just fine. If taking videos with the rear camera is a necessity for you, then this is not the ROM for you. But if you don’t mind that, this CM10 build is otherwise near flawless. If you are still on ICS or Jelly Bean with your Galaxy Tab 10.1, it’s probably the time to consider updating to latest Android 4.4.4 + root. For this purpose, you can try Omni ROM, which is closest custom ROM you will find to stock Android 4.4.4. Also, Omni ROM brings several features to the table including customization options for your status bar, quick settings, navigation bar, Power Menu, and some more. You will also find Active Display, OmniSwitch, and some more. For tweaking performance, you can use Omni ROM’s built-in Performance menu to overclock up to 1.6Ghz. However, I find Tab 10.1 running the fastest at around 1.4Ghz. Also for UI, you can try using Nova launcher (free on Play Store), then set all animations to “super fast” in Nova settings. Coupled with those settings, your Tab 10.1 should now be flying compared to ICS or Jelly Bean. I know many of you probably have your Tab 10.1 in your closet somewhere.
